Global Technology Design Services Provider Accent Selects Giga Scale IC's Time Architect
Specification and Estimation Software Will Be Used to Improve Chip
Size, Power, Performance Estimates
VIMERCATE, Italy—(BUSINESS WIRE)—Jan. 26, 2004—
Accent, a leading global technology design services provider,
today selected specification and estimation software from Giga Scale
Integration Corporation -- Giga Scale IC(TM) -- to automate its
current manual system for developing chip size, power and performance
estimates made in early stages of design. This will allow Accent to
respond quickly to changes in customer requirements and also expand
its business into new markets.
Accent will begin immediately standardizing on Giga Scale IC's
Time Architect(R), along with its intellectual property (IP) database
containing thousands of soft and hard IP elements. Terms of the
multi-year agreement were not disclosed.

Time Architect is easy to use and powerful. With its IP data sets
and proprietary Technology Macro Modeling (TM), it creates a Silicon
Virtual Model(TM) of the integrated circuit (IC) for rapid creation
and exploration of design choices to meet specifications.
Accent will have access to all of Giga Scale IC's databases -- its
generic technology database, and also those for Artisan Components
(Nasdaq: ARTI) and Virage Logic (Nasdaq: VIRL) models, which currently
supports TSMC, UMC and IBM across technology nodes from 250 to 90
nanometers. This will allow Accent to create and evaluate the Silicon
Virtual Model of its designs before a foundry has been selected. It
can further refine the Silicon Virtual Model and choose the optimum
foundry, process variant and IP vendor for the target application.
